From what might be one of the greatest "fashion fueds" ever, comes a super limited quickstrike tee from Crooks & Castles.


Background:

Last year Crooks dropped a jacket with a C-Snake and Crossbones. Apparently, the folks over at Commissary in California felt as though they clearly invented the Crossbones (Nevermind Johnny Cupcakes and Cap'n Hook?) and took offense to the fact that Crooks used a design that resembled Commissary's logo:



We'll admit that they are similar, but seriously who the hell is Commissary. No doubt they are a great shop that has a who's-who of brands, but it's crossbones! Well anyhow, Commissary fired back with this flyer:



Well the fellas at Crooks just laughed that one off and dropped another item with the C-Crossbones logo. This time, they didn't even bother to make the C and Snake. A friendly little 'Fuck You' to Commissary.

So then Commissary decided to go for the jugular. They dropped this tee and deemed it the "Greatest Diss of All Time."


This tee refers to Greek myth when Perseus cut the head off of Medusa.


While that was pretty good, We think Crooks got the last laugh:



The company that made their name by taking the logos and designs of luxury brands and putting their own twist on it, has done it again. Scoreboard: Crooks. ALL HAIL THE RULING ELITE!

Some may call it an acquired talent, others are born noticeably gifted; but for Matthew Haan the passion of art started as early as a child.

From Grade school on up to his high school days at Thomas Jefferson High School in Denver, Matthew found it imperative to incorporate Art (in all it's form) in every curriculum he took. However the true passion and talent of his ability didn't shine as bright until he picked up a paint brush three years ago.



Rooted in Hip-Hop, and having other music/film idols dating back to the fifties one finds it natural to be able to relate to one of Matthew's influential masterpieces. Eye catching, sharp and always inventive the canvases produced by Matthew set him apart from just any artist.

By using just the bare aspects of acrylic paint, Haan is able to create more than a painting. More than just a sketch filled in with color it's a combination of the inspirational artists whose work he admires, the never ending ideas and concepts that flow from his imagination, and the determination and will that comes from within.

Patrick came by the shop last month rockin' this bad boy, which resulted in the VICE crew conspiring to figure out ways to steal it off his back. Well...Patrick made it out of here unharmed and now these coats have made it into our store.

        

Crooks continues to step their game up with the addition of luxury accessories. Earlier this year, they released a limited quantity of their Cairo and Kenya leather Wallets. These things flew out of stores.
